Smart Actions

Smart Actions let you trigger powerful prompts from a simple keyword followed by natural language, directly by voice.

What is a Smart Action?

The default keyword is maestro. A Smart Action looks like this:

"Maestro, summarize this meeting highlighting the decisions and blockers."

"Maestro, extract all tasks with their owners and deadlines."

"Maestro, turn this call into a follow-up email draft."

When you say the keyword maestro (configurable in the settings), Oriloq uses the natural language that follows to identify the closest existing Smart Action in your library, then executes it. You describe your intent, Oriloq selects and runs the matching action. Action names and voice search are available in five languages (1.0.32).

Example use cases

  • →Daily standups → instant summaries to paste into your project management tool.
  • →Sales calls → automatic notes with objections, commitments and next steps.
  • →Coaching sessions → structured notes you can review privately.

Designing good Smart Actions

  • •Be explicit about the output format (bullet list, email draft, JSON, etc.).
  • •Mention the audience ("for a non-technical recipient", "for a colleague", etc.).
  • •One single clear objective per Smart Action.

Composer step search

Step search (1.0.21) — profile creation is faster: you find the right action block without browsing the whole list.

Hierarchical Smart Action agent

Since version 1.0.14, Oriloq embeds a Smart Action agent that automatically discovers available actions and chains them hierarchically. Rather than triggering a single action, the agent analyzes your request, selects the relevant Smart Actions and executes them in the right order — for smoother end-to-end automation.

Default engine: Gemma 4 (local)

Newly created Smart Actions use the local Gemma 4 engine by default (since 1.0.14) for better transformation quality. The engine runs entirely on your Mac via MLX on Apple Silicon — no network call, no data leaves your machine. You can choose another engine per Smart Action in Settings → Smart Action. Custom model providers are supported, with more reliable validation (1.0.26).

Import / Export

Since version 1.0.13, Smart Actions can be exported in portable JSON format and shared between Macs. Referenced file paths (for example an output folder) are automatically converted to relative paths on export and restored on import. Useful for syncing multiple Macs or sharing a library of actions with your team.
